Ability 4 Us: A Legacy of Advocacy
Founded in May 2012 by Joshua Stuart and Tim Correll, Ability 4 Us is an organization dedicated to empowering and amplifying the voices of the differently abled community. While its official charter began in 2012, the seeds of the organization were sown much earlier in a more casual, yet equally impactful, setting.
From Small Beginnings to a Powerful Voice
The journey actually started in January 2011 as a simple book club. What began as a space for shared stories and intellectual connection quickly evolved as the founders recognized a pressing need for dedicated representation and systemic change.
The transition from a literary group to a formal advocacy organization was fueled by a commitment to ensure that the differently abled population had a seat at every table.
Our Impact and Evolution
Over the years, Ability 4 Us has navigated a long and transformative path. The organization has successfully:
- Championed Inclusion: Actively advocated for policy changes and social shifts to create a more accessible world.
- Provided a Platform: Served as a steadfast voice for those who are often overlooked in mainstream discourse.
- Built Community: Maintained the spirit of its “book club” roots by fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support among its members.
From its humble start over a decade ago to its current status as a pillar of advocacy, Ability 4 Us continues to strive for a future where every individual is recognized for their unique abilities and provided the respect they deserve
